I think this is the 3rd message nung Camp brought by Ptr. Manny V.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone who loves the world, the love of the Father is not in Him. For everything in the world - the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and he does - comes not from the Father but from the world.

Pastor Manny gave us 3 kinds of sins men committed wherein Christ won over...A great example is Adam and Eve in Genesis 3

I. Lust of the Eyes...

For man, it is said in Genesis 3:6.. "And it is delightful to the eyes.. "
For Christ, of Matthew 4:6, "Then the evil showed him the glory". (it is the time where the devil tempted Christ)

The lust of the eyes pertains about the earthly bodies which can be the source of desires. It could fill up the sensual appetite. It can be pornography or anything that could be seen by the eyes which can brought about sin.

II. Lust of the flesh
For man, in the same verse, "When the woman saw that the tree was good for food"..
For Christ of Matthew 4:3, "Jesus feasted for 40 days and nights, he became hungry, the evil tempted Him to make the stones bread".

(Well of course, flesh doesn't always talk about food;|)

The lust of the flesh gives the sense of pleasure. It arises by seeing them. It could be that it satisfies what the body needs that could brought about sin.

III. Boastful Pride of life,
For man, in Genesis 3:6, "And the tree was desirable to make one" (for the evil told Eve that if she eat one, she will know the things which she didn't know)
For Christ, in Matthew 4:6, when the devil tempts Jesus Christ to throw himself to down, Christ didn't do so even though He knew He can call His angels and lift him up with their hands to be saved.

The boastful pride of life talks about what people posses in order to impress other people. It is when people boasts about what he can do or for who he is.

When people, specially Christians are tempted to sin, he will sometimes find himself arriving to a question that could maybe struggle him... and we call it the Killer Question.. "Did God say... ?". Maybe, it is those situation where in you are tempted to sin and you think that God didn't tell anything about it... and when you are too curious of trying things or tempted to do such things, the Knock Out Punch from the devil will tell you .. "You will not certainly die.. "

hAayks.. We tend to rebel what God wants us to do...

"But each one of us is tempted to do when, by his own evil desires, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived it gives birth o sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.. "

Overcoming temptations:

There are many verses from the Bible which teaches us how to overcome temptations. We do not just need to pray that God will put us away from temptations for temptations are always there. Here are some verse:

WATCH and PRAY so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.. Matthew 26:41.

FLEE the evil desires of youth and PURSUE righteousness, faith, love and peace along with those who call the Lord out of a pure heart.

We don't just run away from our evil desires. We don't just maintain from being in the middle of the road. We don't stop sinning but pursuing righteousness, pursuing what God has wanted us to do.. Obeying and following Him.

SUBMIT yourself to God..RESIST the devil and he will FLEE from you.. - James 4:7

and here is our greatest assurance:

You sin because it is your choice

No temptation has has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand upon it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness, but we have one who has been tempted in everyday just as we are - yet has without sin. Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to he us in time of need. - Heb. 4:15-16

The choice is clear.

The world and its desires pass away, by
the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1st John 2:17

It is not really about rules. but what God wants us to do.

and lastly, let's remember that when we sin, there we hurt:
God
ourself
people around us.
